Christmas Morning

WOW. Santa was good to us.

We all slept in past 7:30 on Christmas morning (which was the best Christmas gift to mommy and daddy) and when we woke up, we were ready.

Anna woke up before Ashley and Daddy and had spotted the little gift that Santa left for her in her fort and couldn't believe it. "Mommy. I close my eyes and then Santa came! WOW. I think it's a Belle movie." She was patient and waited until the others woke up, continually asking to go downstairs to see if Santa came downstairs too. 15 long minutes later Daddy and Ashley were up and Ashley found a gift Santa had left her on her pink chair in her room. Everyone was super excited.

Then we walked downstairs......

GASP! My drum set! The cookies are gone! Where's Otter? The presents! Look! Look at this! Santa came! We opened stockings and  played with the drum set and our stocking toys. And then we had our traditional Christmas morning breakfast;p homemade doughnuts. YUM YUM YUM!

Then the opening began..... Santa had wrapped all of Anna's gifts in red and all of Ashley's gifts in green so that made it very easy for the girls to get there own gifts under the tree for themselves. It was a blast. Ashley wanted to open every gift in sight and help everyone with theirs and the reaction the girls had to their presents was priceless. I just love Christmas morning.

And then we got to play with our presents for about 15 minutes before heading out to be with family.

I think Daddy had the most fun playing :)

We are having another baby! Super excited and a slight bit overwhelmed.

I am currently 19 weeks (due May 30) and have already felt the little guy (yes I think it's a boy) kick a bunch. Rob has also felt one kick which is pretty cool. I am super tired and have been the entire pregnancy and just waiting for that second trimester burst of energy to hit me. Walking up the stairs is already a hike and I am sure chasing around my two little angels has nothing to do with my exhaustion! At least the queasiness has gone away. We have heard the heart beat 2 times now and it is strong and healthy. At 12 weeks he had a heart beat of 180 beats and at 16 weeks he had a heart rate of 160 beats. (Side note- won't baby #3 love that I am calling her a he if it's a girl?!?!) We have not seen a sonogram yet and our first will be at 20 weeks (this Friday). That is always a nerve wracking sonogram because you hope that everything appears healthy and "normal." So say a little prayer that the little guy is all good.

Anna is very aware of the baby growing in my belly and every morning she tells me how my belly is getting bigger and bigger and so is the baby. She then tells me that the baby is going to be there a long, long time until it's big like her (hopefully not that big!) She run up to me throughout the day, lifts my shirt and gives it chub balls and lots of kisses. She is going to make a great big sister! She would like to name the baby Belle (girl) and thinks Bob the Quad is hilarious for a boy.

As for Ashley, she really doesn't have a clue what's going on, but when you ask her what is in mommy's belly, she says baby. She also is very generous with kisses and chub balls for the baby as well.

We find out the gender on Friday, so stay tuned.....

Doodie in Playroom

About a week ago, Rob is helping Anna finish up on the potty when he hears "POOP" being yelled from another room.

In no rush, since Ashley is in diapers, about a minute later he walks in and sees Ashley standing in the playroom butt naked with her diaper on the other side of the room. Rob checks the diaper and see no poop but smells the strongest odor. Yup, Ashley had pooped in the other corner of the playroom on the carpet.

JOY. What a joy!

It is pretty common for her to take her diaper off right after going pee and to tell me potty, but we had never had a poop incident like this.

Think someone is ready for potty training or what?!?!?

Cookies for Santa and Reindeer Food

Christmas Eve (aka the calm before the storm!)

This evening we had a nice relaxing Christmas Eve at our house. Both sets of grandparents came over and so did Gigi. We had some good food and had some fun playing with the girls and getting them excited for Santa to come tonight. Anna is really at the fun age where she buys into anything and was looking through her telescope to try to find Santa and Rudolph in the sky and told us she saw him and that he was in the neighborhood. Then right before bed Papa showed her how Santa uses his magic to go up and down the chimney by tickling his nose and then they looked out the window and you won't believe it, she saw Santa and Rudolph again. We put out cookies and milk for Santa, a carrot for Rudolph and sprinkled the reindeer food her teachers made her in the front lawn. We also blew Otter kisses since he leaves tonight with Santa. I have never seen a 3 year old get to bed so quickly!

Anna wrote a note to Santa which I find very sweet. It says Thank you Santa Claus. Anna.
 

I love Christmas with children. It is simply magical.

I can not wait until morning!
