Cooper Playdate

My buddy Cooper came over to meet Ashley and play with me. We had so much fun! We played basketball, with balls, with play food, with musical instruments and tons of other toys in my playroom! We also read some books! We shared goldfish as a snack and we would both try to take each others goldfish! And of course he gave me a kiss before leaving! We had so much fun! I just love it when Cooper is in town :)

My Lil Sis

I love my little sister. I love her so much! So much that whenever I walk by her in her bouncer chair I stop to either pat her head (very nicely like mommy says) or kiss her. Sometimes I give her 2 kisses! And I always kiss her good night :)

I am a good big helper too! When she is in her swing, I try to help swing her. When she is getting a bath, I help bathe her..... well ok...... I play in the water and suck on wash cloths and get myself super wet, but it's a start! I especially like putting lotion on her!

When she is doing tummy time, I help make sure the blanket is flat on the ground- if it isn't I say "uh oh" and fix it for her.

I even bring the boppy pillow to mommy when it is time for her to eat and cover her with blankets when I think she is cold. I love to share my books with her.

 Tonight I honked her nose and said "honk honk" but don't think I am allowed to do this anymore because mommy and daddy told me she was too little. I also like to press the vibration button on her baby bouncer to make her more comfortable.

I can't wait until she gets bigger because then she will be able to play with me. I don't understand why daddy won't let me rough house with her, do somersaults around her and roll over her....... I don't want a wimp as a sister!

Even though I love her so much, I don't really like her when Daddy is playing with her or holding her- I pretty much throw a temper tantrum when this happens. But when daddy holds or plays with both of us, that's ok :)

Well Visit #2

Today we went back to the pediatrician and everything looks great! They told mommy and daddy to keep doing whatever they were doing because I had put on 10 ounces in one week! I now weigh 7 pounds 4 ounces and growing into a strong baby girl!

I had a clogged tear duct and the doctor showed mommy and daddy how to take care of that. Besides that, I am a very healthy and strong baby girl!

Oh and I guess both Anna and I feel asleep on the car ride home and mommy and daddy were too afraid to wake us up so they had beer and brownies on the driveway as we slept in the car with the door open. I heard them say it was one of their best ideas EVER!

1 week old

The first week has been great! Ashley is a great sleeper, eater, cuddle monkey, pooper and pee-er. Anything else you can ask of a newborn baby??? Really, if the first week of life predicted anything about how she will eat and sleep during infancy we would be 2 lucky parents!! But like any honeymoon must end, we are preparing ourselves for what she may have in store for us!

Oh..... and we have a thumb sucker! She is already strong enough to break out of her swaddle when wanting those fingers!!!

 

And how is mommy feeling? Well I am so grateful and happy to not be pregnant anymore! I love the fact that I can sleep on my belly and roll on the floor with Anna. I can not wait until all this postpardum stuff that no one talks about is over. Seriously- if you haven't had a baby and don't know much about the "4th trimester" and your body or if you had a baby and need a friendly reminder... PLEASE CALL ME! Oh the things no one talks about :) But on a serious note, I am recooperating well! Besides a slight tingling feeling and numbness in my right hand (I believe it's carpel tunnel- 20% of post pregnant people get it) I really couldn't be much better.... oh and losing weight and getting some more sleep would always help!

Grammy and Poppy's

Last week when mommy and daddy went to the hospital to have my baby sister, Ashley, I got to stay three nights at Grammy and Poppy's house. We had so much fun together!

I got to play with their toys A LOT, play with Henry one day, and have Grammy and Poppy all to myself at night! I even grew an attachment to the Lambie stuffed animal in their pack N play... I just LOVE Lambie's!

I was such a good girl for them; sleeping great at night and during my naps and eating great too! I had so much fun but was super excited when mommy and daddy came home with sister Ashley and we were able to stay at our house again.

First Family Walk

Since the weather has been AWESOME this week, we were able to get outside for 3 days in a row. And it felt GREAT!!!!! Mommy and Anna really hadn't been out of the house in a while- except for our weekly trip to the hospital- so we were definitely needing fresh air!
