Week 36 and a half
We are in MAY! That means 25 more days until this baby is due to arrive!
How's mommy feeling?
The days vary. One day earlier this week, I was in so much pain due to the position of the baby and her dropping (I am pretty sure she is lower). I couldn't get in a comfortable position ; even laying down barely relieved the pain. But today and most of the other days I have felt good... for being 36 weeks pregnant. Walking up the stairs drains me, I try to be on the couch most of the time, I am having Braxton hicks contractions all the time and this weird lower belly tightening (due to my abs just not being that strong anymore- says the doctor), my lower back aches by the time I am in bed, am sleeping just alright due to shifting positions and having to pee throughout the night, I am still growing larger, not eating a ton but craving sweets and trying to enjoy this "calm" before we add a 3rd child to our lives.
What the doctor had to say today at our 36 week check up this past Friday!
She said that I look like I am carrying the baby super low. She confirmed that when she pressed on my belly :) She said I was 36 weeks and 2 days along and that the heart beat sounds great. She says I will continue to have more and more of that weird lower belly tightening as we enter the final weeks. And then she said see ya next week :)
How is baby doing?
She is taking up more and more space but still managing to kick at me and move around. She is definitely slowing down due to lack of space. She is super strong and feels as though she is leaning into my belly (opposed to how Anna and Ashley leaned into my back). It is very common for me to feel her hiccuping throughout the day and especially when laying in bed.
I am hoping this baby stays in me until at least after May 15th (Anna's last day of day out). That would make life a lot more easy! Plus I have some items on my to do list that I still want to get crossed off; but amazingly it is shrinking day by day!
Much Love,
Jenny
PS My favorite thing Anna said this week: The first thing she told me when she woke up was, "Morning Mommy, Is baby still in belly? Oh. Well when she coming out?!?!"
PSS And then she asked me how I was going to get the baby out of my belly. And she would not settle on the "baby fairy helps mommy." So I told her I had to push it out of my front (that is what we call her vagina) and her face went blank. Then about 10 seconds later I got a "WOW!That is where my pee pee comes from!" Oh please don't go telling your friends at school :)
PSSS I am officially full term (37 weeks) on Tuesday.

First sleepover at our house
Tonight we had our first sleepover at our house with Kate!!!
She came over after nap time with Grama and we got to play, play and play while mommy and daddy went to a doctor's appointment. Then they brought home pizza for a pizza party with Grama, Aunt Anne and Uncle Todd. After we ate pizza (at 6:15) we couldn't WAIT to put on our pj's and get Anna's room all set up with Kate's sleeping bag. So we ran upstairs and got it all finished while the adults sat downstairs.
Ans you won't believe what Daddy surprised us with.... her brought the movie projector home from work and set it up in Anna's room. It was like the movie theatre but IN Anna's room. So we were overly excited to get the movies started. So at 6:30 we asked to watch the princess movies that Kate had brought and it was AWESOME!!! Mommy even popped us popcorn TWICE! We stayed up late watching movies and reading books. We had a blast. We can not wait to do it again; next time with Ashley sleeping in our room!
Our big screen! But it was ALL princesses for the evening.... this was one of the previews.
Relaxing while eating popcorn. Slowly Kate made her way to snuggling with Anna in her bed towards the end of the movies.
And then if it couldn't get any more awesome, Uncle Todd is bringing donuts in the morning- YUM YUM!!!
We LOVE sleepovers!!!!
Love,
Anna and Ashley
PS Fingers crossed for mommy and daddy that we sleep well tonight :)
PSS Daddy was so funny tonight. At the beginning of our movie watching (sleepover time had started) he stayed with us for almost 30 minutes. Mommy had to come in and ask if he was going to hang out with us all night. He laughed and said, "Oh am I supposed to leave???? I don't know the sleepover rules!!!" And then he left. Daddy wanted to stay with us; he's so silly :)

Henry and Frances were in town!
A couple weeks ago, Henry and Frances were in town for the weekend. Mommy had forgotten her camera and she only had her cell phone. It has taken her that long to upload her cell phone pictures but better late then never, right???
Well, we had a blast seeing our cousins. We got to hang out with Henry all day Friday and then we got to hang out all Saturday morning with just Frances (while everyone else went to watch Uncle Aaron give a talk). We then stayed the entire day up until dinner time on Saturday and played, played, played!
We just love seeing our cousins!
Love,
Anna and Ashley
Eating cheese with Frances... the only time mommy thought to take a picture with her phone... she's not sued to phone pictures! :)
What we do when it snows in May!
While we were cleaning out something Anna found some straws and immediately wanted a bowl of water. So, of course, I got them each one. And what do they do? They start blowing bubbles in the water. You would have thought I gave them chocolate! This lasted a good 30 minutes before they made the small bowl into a bathtub for all their toys.
And then Mommy checks picking up and cleaning the basement off her list to do before Baby 3 comes home while we paint, dance, play dress up and play with the basement toys. We had a blast!
We haven't left the house in 48 hours and they are starting to get on each other's nerves. Please warmer weather, come back soon!!!
Much Love,
Jenny
Snow... on May 2
Unreal. Unreal. It has not snowed in the state of Kansas in May since 1907. WOW. It was pretty unreal to see these huge flakes not only fall from the sky for literally 10 hours or so but to see them stick and last on the ground over night. Everything is almost melted now but it was crazy!
The girls weren't the happiest with us because we didn't let them go outside and play in it. It was just too cold and it was a wet snow, not a good playing snow. Plus we had (or I had) already taken all the winter coats down to the basement back in April. Duh Jenny..... it snows in May apparently!!!
But the girls did have fun watching it come down!

Backyard
Our backyard will be a life savor when the weather gets nice and the baby comes.
And who needs swim trunk bottoms when your bottom is this cute?!?!?
Yes, she refused to wear the diaper with the swim bottoms, just a diaper or just the swim bottoms. So we all stared at this cutest squishy tushy around :)
These girls can literally swing and play with their toys on the water table an entire afternoon. And mommy can rest with her legs up while they do this (besides for when I have to swing them :))
Now we just need to get rid of this crazy weather???? Snow this week? Seriously???????

3 years and 7 months
Happy monthly birthday Anna Bananapants!!!
We love you!
*This month Anna has been using really large words in her vocabulary. I am 100% sure it is due to all the books she loves us to read to her and the fact that her Daddy talks in pretty big words too! For example she said, "Mommy, Aerial transformed into a mermaid, didn't she?!?" I was shocked that she used the word transformed correctly in context. (And it helps a lot that her speech is getting more clear by the week!)
*This month she has also surprised us by how social she is becoming. She is definitely coming out of her shell in social situations where in the past she would remain pretty passive and quiet. She loves to hug her friends at school, always waves and yells hi when she sees her best buddies (Kendall, Lainey and Hank) and is always talking about them.
Much Love,
Jenny
