Playing in the snow with Stilley cousins AND DADDY!
While we were at Grammy and Poppy's celebrating Christmas we all got to play in the snow. And the coolest thing was that DADDY was there to play with us. We rolled in the snow, did snow angels, had a snow ball fight, ran around the yard and made a tiny frosty the snowman. Anna didn't care the size of her snowman, she thought we was pretty darn amazing!!! And for the first time Ashley lasted longer then 5 minutes and had a blast! She made her first snow angel and was a cuddle monkey with Daddy on the front lawn. It was great!

But then we came up with this winner. A cyclopes frosty! So proud.

Christmas with the Stilley's
On New Year's Day we got together with the Stilley side to celebrate our Christmas. We started with a yummy brunch, then opened lots of presents, then played with our presents, relaxed, had an awesome lunch, played in the snow, took naps and played dominoes. It was fun being all together and having an entire lazy day to enjoy together. Anna passed out on the car ride home, she was exhausted, and Ashley was still ready to party the entire drive home :)

Anna was hard at work the week before finishing up her ornaments she had made for everyone. I think they turned out great!

New Year's Eve
On New Year's Eve we headed to my parents for a new year's eve celebration and feast. We ate ourselves silly, had our adult Christmas gift exchange that we never got to on Christmas Day, played with the kids and just relaxed. Mom made an amazing cheesecake that I am still eating off of. I think baby really likes cheesecake! We were home by 8ish (wild and crazy, I know) and I think both Rob and I were asleep by 9:30. Well, it's was 2013 somewhere, right?

Oh and how could I forget? We also celebrated my 32nd birthday with awesome cheesecake and cupcakes! Thanks everyone :)
Ashley's 2's and Anna's 3
We have reached a point in our girls lives where I believe they are both entering the terrible 2's/3's at the same time. And it gets rough. I mean they are both amazing kids and super sweet, but WOW don't mess with my girls is all I have to say (it looks like they have a lot of their stubborn and feisty mommy in them).
Examples:
They fight over everything one day but the next day are best friends for life and share everything.
They grab things out of each others hands, hit each other, make mean faces at each other and make weird noises at each other. And I mean they FEED off each other when doing this.
Tantrums. Anna is almost past this point (hers tend to not last long) but Ashleys can last up to 20 minutes. She's only had a couple but of course it started when we were in public and I didn't let her have something she wanted from the store. Well she's shrieking as I check out and shrieking on the car ride home. Then after we get out of the car she proceeds to continue shrieking and to walk out of the garage, into the street, up the cul-de-sac and down the road to the next cul-de-sac before I stop her. Oh yeah, in the freezing cold SNOW! Anna and I are trudging along hoping that she blows her steam off quickly. Anna is walking right next to her saying, "I know Ashley. It's hard. It's hard." Finally I had to pick Ashley up and walk back home where she continued to cry for 10 minutes by the back door. Then out of no where she was back to being my smiley, happy little girl. WOW is all I have to say!
I hope this stage goes by fast and that I keep my calm. It reminds me of something my friend Ashley posted on her blog a month or two ago....

During Ashley's nap
I had just got done putting Ashley down for a nap and I walk downstairs to find that Anna has pushed a chair to the counter so she can reach my 3 pound stash of gummy bears (yes, the baby loves gummy bears apparently).
I am shocked to see her just standing on the chair chowing down on a mouthful of gummies. I ask her how many she has had and she responds. "A lot mommy. A LOT!"

Taking Down Christmas
As I am taking down the Christmas decorations Ashley is running all around the house hunting for Otter the elf (who left Christmas Eve night with Santa) Anna says....
"We love Christmas now. We don't know why it has to end. We are sad. Is Kate's elf gone too? Why? Can it be Christmas tomorrow?"
I don't know why it has to end. I wish it was Christmas everyday!
