The hardest thing right now about having two kids on different nap schedules is the fact that we have to be home (or somewhere with two pack n plays) for a 6 hour stretch. It is nice having Ashley on a 2 nap schedule; she is sleeping longer too! There used to be overlap with Anna's midday nap but since Ashley's naps are happening later and longer (!!!!) we are lucky to get a couple of minutes of overlap/breathe time. The lack of overlap is tiring but on the plus side, it does give me more one on one time with my girls (which on most days I LOVE!)
So our day has been looking like this lately:
6:30-7: Ashley wakes up
7:15-7:30: Anna wakes up
7:45: Breakfast
8:15-9:30: Gym or morning errands
10ish: Ashley breastfeeds and sleeps anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes. (Usually a little over an 1 hour) While I am putting Ashley to bed, Anna is watching Barney or World Word and is in HEAVEN!!!
*If Ashley wakes up early, we can usually squeeze in errands with a later lunch/later Anna nap time.
12:00: Lunch
1:00: (can sometimes be pushed up/back 30-45 minutes): Anna's nap. This is the HARDEST thing right now with these two girls... putting Anna to bed with Ashley awake. This is mostly Rob and my fault because we still rock Anna with her juice sippy cup for a good 5 minutes to calm her down for her nap. It is probably long past due but I think it may be time to get rid of rocking Anna before her
nap. It's just that Rob and I both love this time on the weekends or on
days that we are not alone..... and Anna LOVES it too!!!!! I do know that without the rocking, just putting Anna in her crib would be a piece of cake. But until I attempt to rid that habit..... I have tried several things with what to do with Ashley while rocking Anna and what works best is having Ashley on Anna's floor playing with lots of Anna's toys while I rock Anna with her juice. Halfway through, if Ashley gets fussy she gets put in Anna's crib. Ashley is usually fine with this and surprisingly Anna is too.
2:45-3: Ashley's naptime. We usually luck out and get her to bed before Anna wakes up.
About 45 minutes to an hour later Ashley is up and everyone ready for Daddy to get home! I guess we occasionally do slip in a trip to the grocery store or Target here if dinner has been prepared earlier or if it's an easy fix!
So even though we may have some wiggle room to fit in a Price Chopper run, from 10-3 you will pretty much fine us at home or at my parents or at Rob's parents! :)

Gotta Brag!
Today in swim lessons Anna was asked by the instructor to be an example and show all the rest of the kids in the class how to go underwater. AND. SHE. DID. IT! Rob said she did awesome and loved every minute of it and was beaming while showing the others!!! She also did an AWESOME time floating on her back (which is the ting she has to work on the most). So proud of my little fishy who is growing up SO fast!

In search of Baby Jesus
This past Friday night we went to the Journey to Bethlehem at Rob's church. It was a last minute decision to keep Anna up past her bedtime so that she could have a mommy/daddy date. We have never done this before and we were so very glad we did!!!!
We had been talking about Baby Jesus for a while now, referencing him in the nativity sets and in Anna's books, so Anna had an idea as to who Baby Jesus was. She was asking to be read books about Baby "G's" (as she calls him) and we would often see her carrying around the Baby Jesus from her nativity set. When we had told her at dinner Friday night that we were going to go see Baby Jesus, she got super excited! She said, "Hi. I A." And we just laughed!!! Whenever we tell her she is going to meet someone we walk through how you say Hi and then introduce yourself. Apparently she had plans to introduce herself to Baby "G's" that night.
Thanks to Uncle Aaron who came over to sit at our house while Ashley slept, we made it to Rob's church 15 minutes early. Good thing we got there early because the crowd was already piling in! At the beginning Anna was really overwhelmed with the people and noise and pretty much either stood right by us or insisted on being carried by Daddy. She was also holding tightly, as if her life depended on it, Baby Jesus from her nativity set. Rob and I figured this is how she would be the entire time.
So when we split into our little group we were instantly shocked to see Anna walking by herself, leaving us behind at times, and actively listening to the story as it unfolded. It was a walking "search" for the star of Bethlehem and Baby Jesus and every time someone mentioned the baby she got the most priceless look on her face and would look around EVERYWHERE for him! Once she was so into the story she started following the group and totally left us behind! She was in awe when we found the star of Bethlehem and when we finally got to go see Baby Jesus she was too cute. The kids were allowed to go up and place a flower in his cradle and Anna jumped at the opportunity. She had the most proud smile EVER when giving Baby Jesus the flower and when she came back she told us to be quiet (yes she shushed us) and then told us she had put a flower (flaw) on Baby "G". When we left she blew him a kiss.
What a wonderful night we had and we can't wait to take the girls again. We are still amazed at how much Anna took away from the night, we didn't know just what to expect!

First Step!
Oh My GOODNESS my little Ashley!
This morning while we were hanging out in the playroom, she stood up without barely any help and was just standing and looking at me a couple of feet away. Unintentionally, I place the toy red salt and pepper shaker (that she loves to chew on) on the arm of the kids rocky rock chair so I could use my hands to get her to walk. Ignoring me, the next thing I see is her right foot go forward and she was still standing!!!!! Then she reached out to the rockey rock chair, grabbed the salt and pepper shaker (it went straight to the mouth) and stood against the rocky rock chair!
Way to go Baby Girl!!!!

1000!
It's blog post 1000... can you believe it? I can because the time I devote to it certainly makes it feel like it's my third child :) I keep telling myself that it's worth it for keeping all the memories! I am sure I'll appreciate every second I put into it one day :)

Monkeying Around
Aunt Megan and cousin Leo came in from Denver early for Thanksgiving. All of us cousins got together at Grammy's house to play, play, play! We had a lot of fun! Grammy had bought us matching monkey stocking caps so we could "monkey around." And that we did!!!
