Denver
This past weekend and part of last week, we all went to Denver to visit Aunt Megan, Uncle Jeff and Baby Leo. Grammy drove out with mommy and the girls and we caravaned with Aunt Laura, Uncle Aaron and Henry. Daddy and Poppy flew out a day later and met us! The drive out and back was long but we were all troopers! We had so much fun and had such a busy and great long weekend!
Anna was constantly following Henry around saying "He" and if she couldn't find him, she was asking for him. They had a blast together and it was really neat seeing them hit it off and boy did they tire one another out!
Our first morning we went to the Denver Science and Nature Museum where we saw a Space exhibit (mommy really liked this one and thought it was hilarious that the workers were dressed as "trekkies." She kept looking for Spock), a dinosaur exhibit and an animal exhibit. We then got to play in an AWESOME Children's Discovery room. They had puzzles, a pit full of animals (Anna kept calling the bunny stuffed animal "A's") a fan that blew things into the air, music playing and lots of other science related things for kids our age. Mommy forgot the battery to her camera so we have no pictures from that day!
The next day we went to the Denver's Children Museum and that was awesome!! They had rooms full of a lot of cool things; a fire truck, a train set (Daddy's favorite), a dress up and dance floor, a vet station, a bubble maker, painting, a grocery store, a make believe magic land with a tree trunks that you could climb into, a rocket station where you could shoot off homemade rockets and a play place for babies. Anna plainted her first picture and it turned out beautiful! We can't wait to get it into a frame. That afternoon, Grammy, Daddy, Henry, Mommy and we went to a nearby park where we played frisbee, a ball catching game and played on the playground. We were EXHAUSTED by the end of the day!
The next day was Grammy's birthday and we went to the Aquarium and over to Aunt Megan and Uncle Jeff's house for a great dinner. At the aquarium we saw tons of fish and mermaids! Both of us LOVED watching the fish (especially Ashley) and had a blast!
On our last day we went to the Botanical Gardens. The flowers were beautiful and they had a kids section that was fun. Anna LOVED playing in the waterfall and stream and probably could have spent hours in it! After nap time, Daddy, Mommy and we went to the same park we had been to before. Anna was crazy wild and pretty much was running around for the entire hour and a half we were there. Mommy could hear her giggle out loud a soccer field away with Daddy chasing after her. And to make things even more awesome, Anna got to swing for 15 minutes! What a day!
We can't wait to go back again!
Love,
Anna and Ashley

Happy 4th of July
Wishing you the happiest Independence Day! We spent ours traveling in the car for 10 hours on I-70 back home from Colorado and could think of 1000 others ways we would have liked to have spent our day. But at least the 4 of us were together (The girls and Daddy, not the Jayhawk, that is!)
Happy Birthday America!
Love,
Mommy and her Little Jayhawks!!!
I just got back from rocking my big girl to sleep. This doesn't happen often because we like Anna to fall asleep on her own so let's rewind to 15 minutes ago.....
"Ahhhhhh!!!!! Momma! Momma! Momma!" Anna screams over and over again.
I decide to check on her because she seemed worked up about something. I opened the door and saw her standing in her crib. She had somehow found a way to wiggle out of her sleep sack and in her hand is her diaper. She looked at me, looked at the diaper, looked at me and says, "No pee pee.... no poo poo!" I laughed, smiled and put her diaper on telling her she is right- she had no poop or pee. I think she wanted an m and m or something :)
Then I rock her to sleep thinking how much I love this age. Can I freeze this age; or at least have part of it be in her forever?!?!? She is growing up so fast and manages to make me laugh ALL. THE. TIME!
Much in Love,
Jenny

BOOZE
Recent Conversation...
Anna: "What's that???" (pointing at my wine glass with an open mouth).
Mommy: "It's mommy's drink."
Anna: "Momma's" (shakes head yes)........ "A's??" (tilt's head and looks at me).
Mommy: "No, this is mommy's not Anna's."
Anna: "Momma." Head nod yes. Pause..... Points to glass. "Booze." Shakes head yes. Points to self and shakes head no...... "No A's." Shakes head yes.... "Momma's. Booze."
I laughed out loud!
I guess that's what happens after spending a weekend with Grandma :)
