Morning Time
When I wake up in the mornings, I am extremely talkative! Mommy says she loves listening to me when I start talking with my animals in my crib (even if it is at 6:15 some mornings). I always talk about Daddy, Mommy, Baby, say Uh-oh, yeah, Baaa for Lambie, Bu for Bunny and just talk, talk, talk! I usually talk, sing and play in my crib with my animals and rain forest music plaything for about 15-30 minutes before crying out loud for my mama! I just have a lot to say after a good nights sleep :)

3 week Well Visit
I went in for my 3 week well visit and everything looks great! I got to meet Dr Austin for the first time and she really liked me! She said she hadn't had an Ashley for a while and that made Daddy excited that they didn't pick TOO common of a name for me!
My nurse and Dr. Austin were VERY impressed with my weight gain- from 7 lbs 4 oz to 8 lbs 5 oz! They couldn't believe that in a short 12 days I had put on so much weight! I guess the average weight gain for babies around my age is an ounce a day..... well I am trumping that average! What can I say.... like my parents I like to eat AND sleep!
Dr Austin said my coloring looks great and everything appears to be nice and healthy. I have had a bad butt rash spot for over a week now and mommy and daddy couldn't get it to clear up so Dr. Austin told them to get something called Bag Balm- which is simliar to a thick vaseline. Mommy had to order it at CVS and is picking it up tomorrow. We can't wait to get it on my bottom! I want my ouchie to go bye bye!
I go back in 6 weeks for my 2 month check up. I guess I get shots at that one... BOO!

"Henry" and other words
I have been calling my cousin Henry "he" (or something close to that) for sometime now- especially when seeing pictures of him. But yesterday, while I was at the park with Henry, Aunt Laura, Uncle Aaron and Grammy (mommy was meeting us later after feeding Ashley) I said his full name. We were swinging in the swings and I looked right at him and said "Henry." Everyone heard me and was SUPER excited!
I also started saying the word "poke" this week while playing in some leftover snow with Grammy. I also walked up to our front door and said "momma, dadda, bebe" and panted like a dog! I named everyone who lives at my house with me! Grammy was quite impressed!
This week I also started to said "momma beep beep" and pointing to her car. this is the first time I have put two "ideas" or words together. Mommy was REALLY proud of me!

Every morning...
Every morning I run into mommy and daddy's room to check on "bebe" Ashley who is most of the time still sleeping. I usually just pat her head but sometimes I try to give her my Bunny or Lambie. Then mommy and I go down for our "baba" mommy and Anna cuddle time. I just love mornings so much!

Postpardum Pits
.....As if recovering from pregnancy isn't enough. As if a lack of sleep from waking every couple of hours through the night with a newborn while chasing a toddler around during the day isn't enough ..... my thoughts EXACTLY!
To make a long and stressful week or so short, two weekends after Ashley was born I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel in my right hand and Bell's Palsey in the right side of my face. Both diagnosis are more likely to occur after pregnancy and luckily neither are life threatening. Life impairing a little bit, but it could be so much worse.
My doctor had me pick up a wrist splint to help with the carpel tunnel. I wear it at night and besides the annoyance involved in taking it off every time I feed Ashley, it seems to be helping the tingling in my hand during the night and also during the day. Carpel tunnel relief- CHECK!
As for the Bell's Palsey, this was the more scary of the two for Rob and I to experience, the right side of my face had started to go numb about a week after Ashley was born. I lost taste sensation in the right side of my tongue, my right ear was aching, I could barely wink my right eye and the right side of my face was drooping. I had a crooked smile and could barely lift my right eye lid. Those couple of days when the symptoms were worsening were tough..... very tough and emotional on Rob and I. I was put on the steroid presnidone, which is safe for breast feeding mothers, and also allowed to take Tylenol for the soreness that I am beginning to get in the right side of my face. Luckily, I have not experienced any of the baby blues and have been able to keep pretty high spirits since finding out the diagnosis. As for how I am recovering, since being put on the medicine things haven't gotten worse, but they haven't gotten much better looking. The first week of onset, I had slight numbness on my right side... now I feel like I have been punched in the right temple, right jaw and ear. LOVELY, huh?!?! Luckily that comes and goes with how much rest I get. I am also beginning to move the right side of my face with a little more ease and can blink a little better. Doctors say that recovery time for Bell's Palsey is 1 week to 4 weeks.... and we have almost 2 weeks down! Fingers crossed that we make headway on getting this out of our lives!
Friends and family have been great during the last weeks. Our mom's have been over, friends and family have visited, Rob's church even arranged meal delivery for us. Rob has also been completely awesome helping out with everything around the house. I am very thankful for all the freezer meals I prepared ahead of time and ee are so lucky to be living amongst such great friends and family. I truly don't know what we would do without them!
So, Debbie Downer Blogpost is over but I wanted to blog about it just in case someone I know ever goes through this..... It's not fun at all :)

Does anyone know if they sell newborn sized clothing in Tall or Extra Long? OR 0-3 month clothing in Tall? This baby girl is already stretching the full length of 0-3 month sleep and plays! As for the room around her for chubber- tons left for her to fill out :)
